Look for flights on Norwegian Air Shuttle out of JFK. Find some other airline to get you to New York. Norwegian offers insanely cheap airfare to Oslo out of JFK....sometimes as low as $400 roundtrip. However, just know they make money on things that are free on other airlines like a seat assignment, checked bags, food, drink, etc

Thanks.

I saw most packages and things were cheaper going out of JFK. I was thinking of a one day train trip to New York. Amtrack has a 22 hour train ride and never done a train trip either. I may have to do Norway next year though, when I could go this year, there'll only be 3 or so hours of daylight and that would kinda put a damper on sightseeing.

Will you be travelling alone, or will you be travelling with a group?

If you are looking to meet other travellers, I'd suggest going someplace you know will still be warm. People are far more likely to be out bar-hopping if its not cold outside. Spain or Italy are perfect in early Fall. The summer months can be brutal there, but the fall is quite nice. By Thanksgiving it can be cold.
