Well, with the BIG commitment the Dawgs got today on the Olnie had me thinking about a year ago when the coaches felt it was a good idea to have the oline lose weight. We ended up having a small Oline rivaled only by GT There were a few members here who said the oline was the least of their worries. Look how that turned out. This is from last year....

OT John Theus - 6'6 303(-10)
OG Brandon Kublanow - 6'3 282(-12)
C Isaiah Wynn - 6'2 278(-5)
OG Greg Pyke - 6'6 313(-8)
OT Kolton Houston- 6'5 285(-2)

Now the new Coaches are bringing in bigger and stronger Olinemen and I am relieved. The Offensive line shouldn't get pushed around the way they did against top teams like Bama.

The OL recruiting has been better in this one cycle than at just about any other time under CMR. It drove me crazy that CMR and his coaches didn't recruit better at that position.

Last season the OLine was not as big a worry as the poor play calls, the need for a more capable QB, or the lack of motivation and enthusiasm of the team as a whole. OLine was about 7th on the top ten list of problems.

You guys must of forgotten like a few years ago when UGA had the biggest OL in all of football, at any level. We didn't do that good that year. I think size is overrated somewhat. Don't get me wrong, size is good, but if you are fat and the added weight is slowing you down, then it isn't good. If you are like Ben Cleveland, and don't have a lot of fat (as some lineman have), but can move better, then I would prefer that over a bloated Cleveland just to say he is 350lbs.

Plus another thing that I think is going to help us, is that it seems our OL recruiting in general is getting better. So if these guys pan out like we are hoping, then we should be fielding much better O lineman than we have in the past, talent wise.
