How many thousands of years until current believers give up?

Every religion before the current big 3 has dwindled into non-existence. Over so many thousands of years believers of every religion die out, give up or eventually have kids who don't continue what their parents followed. New religions are born out of necessity for the people of that time to place their hope and ritual.
We're 2,000+ years into the current God of the big 3's religion. How many more until Christianity, Muslim and Judeism is abandoned like the religions before it?
3,000? Maybe 6,000? Will their be believers of any religion in existence today in 6,000 years?

Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come.

That's sort of the Christian Catch-22. Keeps us believers on our toes today and for billions of years to come.
Pretty clever, innit?

I think in about 100 years the majority of the world will be secular. 35% of US millennials are already non-religious. With the Internet, resolving the fairy tales in most religions will seem to be an exhausting mental exercise that most just won't waste their time with. In 200 years, you'll only find it in the poorest and most isolated areas of the world. In 500 years it will most likely be less than 1% of people.
But I would go back to my post to you a couple months ago. You need to let your anger towards Christianity go, and start seeing the positive in things. These threads are starting to become more and more neurotic. I'm not a Christian by any means, but your venting period needs to end soon. There are lots of great things to do with your life, and the food pantry at your Church does a lot of good things. It's possible to coexist with Christianity. Don't let the bitter atheist neckbeards mold your psychology.

Christianity isn't a religion. That's what makes it different from the others.

You should ask this question to the pastor who did your marriage counseling.

Your question is interesting but I don't think you're asking the right question.
I'm guessing off your question that you're an atheist. Religion (particularly organized religion) isn't going anywhere. The problem I have with Christianity is that the church as a whole has completely abandoned the very Word of God that they so proclaim to believe and preach.
We are in a time of apostasy and false prophets...of having our ears tickled...of fearing the displeasure of man as opposed to fearing the displeasure of God...of accepting sin and political correctness instead of recognizing it as deception from the enemy.
Deception is everywhere. I reiterate...religion isn't going anywhere.

A thousand years is as a day to God. Shoot at least give him more than two days to get his crib ready for us.

Well, since Islam is a cult and not so much a religion, it will 've next to die. Some prophet Mohammed decides to write a book and instructs his followers to kill. Not a religion bro

I am currently in the planning phase of my crusade. Plan is to force everyone to convert so I don't think religion will go away any time soon.

A lot of younger people say they're religious almost purely for the sake of being religious. Believing in a "higher power" and not defining it at all, for me, is irreligousness or atheism. Pantheism, etc. etc..
I think it's very difficult to keep believing because, well, the books have obvious contradictions and at this point I have to question if it can sustain itself without having another change in its philosophy.
The debates are also waking people up -- and that's a big deal. Debates are so important. If you're an atheist or you're religious, you should watch debates.

In a few thousand years we be able to scientifically confirm religion. Maybe not in the exact sense of any current religion, but in the sense of discovering other dimensions or other forms of intelligence or life that we don't currently know about that would be close to what our current idea of a higher power is

And to answer the OP, I'd estimate the big 3 have the foundation for a solid 500 years of continued prominence.
In 3,000 years, they'll be similarly regarded as Zoroastrianism today.
Taoism, Buddhism, and Hinduism have more staying power IMhO.

that's not necessarily true. Hindiusm is essentially 5,000 years old. Which is basically the bronze age which is basically as long as human civilization )not humans themselves) as we know it has really been around.

Don't forget Hinduism, the oldest religion. Even though people want to make fun of them for having 1,000's of gods, they still believe in a monotheistic god, meaning that all existence came from that God, the supreme God if you will.

I never have understood why Athiests spend so much time bashing a God that they don't believe in? I don't see Athiests bashing unicorns? What gives?
