I can assure you that someone is not me. I'll take championships over Kendall Rogers opinions on the best baseball job.
You would too. Don't lie

Texas could be no. 1 on this list.... and the only reason they are even on this list is because of history and their potential, both being great.
But nobody holds Texas back more than Texas itself. That athletic program should be elite in every sport they offer. If they were smart they'd hire Jeremy Foley away from Florida to run their AD. He would have that place winning 10 national titles a year.

They'd have a better chance trying to get the Louisville AD. Foley worked his way up from ticket intern in the 70's, the only job he'd leave for is SEC Commissioner.

I think some people have misinterpreted current best job in college baseball with historic wins/losses.
Previous record is a factor; but many other variables also come into play.
That said, if I'm a collegiate baseball coach, I'm happy with just about any job in the SEC, PAC, or ACC.
This thread reminds me of preseason football prognostications: It's only one person's opinion, yet some posters will die in a ditch, arguing their side.

Yeah you can't go wrong with any of the teams in the OP or the next 5 he listed. It bothered me a little bit, but like you said, it's one guys opinion.

Texas and Rice for sure.
Would you put TCU over Baylor?
TCU has had more success as of recently, but I remember Baylor playing in Baton Rouge a fair amount (regionals and super regionals). Also, Baylor had a more difficult path for the majority of the time as they were battling Texas, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State while TCU was in the WAC and Mountain West.

Someone explain to me Georgia though. They've had decent success, but would anyone say it's a good job anymore? Facilities are behind, you have powers all around you. Maybe I'm being a dick or im just uninformed, so someone shed me of this ignorance
He called Bama a sleeper, but no similar footnote for Georgia.

I think that probably puts him up towards the top. But, nobody comes close to PM in total compensation.
Mainieri makes $750,000 salary + an additional $175,000 from other sources for a total of $925,000 a year. He gets additional bonuses for reaching certain milestones (his bonus for winning the CWS is $285,000). Mainieri makes in a typical year around $1.15 to $1.2 million.

I agree with you on the Georgia job. I just don't see it as a top 10 job

Baylor hasn't been to Omaha in 11 years or a regional in 4 years. They have one CWS appearance since 1980. They're probably 5th at best among baseball programs in Texas

True. I was gauging it off the past 20 years. I guess TCU, on its face, does have the better record. Especially as of late. Baylor has looked to be more consistent, but has died off recently. TCU has really blossomed over the past 10 years.
Baylor
CWS appearance: 1 (2005)
NCAA regional championships: 4 (1999, 2003, 2005, 2012)
NCAA tournament appearances: 13
Big 12 Conference champions: 3 (2000, 2005, 2012)
TCU
CWS appearances: 3 (2010, 2014, 2015)
NCAA regional championships: 5 (2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015)
NCAA tournament appearances: 12 (10 year gap from '94-'04)
Big 12 Conference champions (I'm not considering the WAC/CUSA/MWC championships): 1 (2015)

Baylor is pretty well behind Rice TCU and A&M as far as baseball history. They're not really even in the discussion. If Tech keeps it up they might pass them too

I don't know how you can classify TCU as one of the "main players in Texas the last 20 years" without including A&M, especially since their 2015 CWS appearance was robbed from us by their double agent, Eric Hyman.
A&M
CWS appearances: 2 (1999, 2011)
NCAA regional championships: 6 (1999, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2015)
NCAA tournament appearances: 15
Big 12 Conference champions: 4 (1998, 1999, 2008, 2011)
Troll on, though.
