Unlikely. He's in bed with big oil/auto. And anyway, a president isn't going to create a paradigm shift.

As good as long range bullet trains would be, which I think he's talked about, it's not really a way to solve the need for most people to have their own vehicle.

It's all about making deals. If the auto industry gets something and if rail gets something and you leverage them against each other, Trump seems like he'd get a hard-on over that. In Texas, Southwest Airlines shut down the high speed rail thirty years ago. Now, they lose money on short distance flights due to how long a plane has to be grounded. Dynamics change.
