So what happened to other QBs in years past will translate to Harris? Seriously? Shall we go over the number of QBs at other programs in years past that shows no improvement is forthcoming, then say Harris has no chance?

It's always been like that. It's all about continuation. Now tell me, what has LSU lost at WR, TE, RB, OC, HC, OL that would make it not possible for a guy who has a year's worth of experience to improve? He also had an injury that he dealt with the past 5 games that hindered his progression. Harris has history on his side, plus he loses none of the pieces around him. If he doesn't improve it would actually make him an outlier.

I listed every QB who started a 2nd year in the West over the past 5 years. Showing their improvement from first year starting to second year. Every single school experienced an improvement in their 2nd year starting QB whether it was huge in one area, or improvements in several areas. The only time one didn't was when Arkansas lost their coaching staff and all their pass catchers in one year. There was also an excellent article that a guy did going back 8 years in the SEC for underclassmen QBs, and Harris fits right in line.

Like I said, Harris has everything he needs to improve, if he doesn't, it will be because of something extreme. I'm not expecting some huge increase like Mett or Prescott, but improvement in short to midrange passing (more use of his RBs and TEs as well), will go a long way in improving LSU and making us a more balanced team.

BTW, you can bookmark both posts and heckle/praise me when whatever happens, happens this year.

We were talking about QB....not what you didn't lose. Florida had some of the best QB's in the country ranking wise with Muschamp and look what happened. Driskell ring a bell? Just because they have another year doesn't mean you can expect improvement. Look at us last year with Lambert. He has the talent, but just didn't have it between the ears. Shall we go on? I don't care how good your WR, OL or anybody else is. If your QB can't get the ball to them or get his act together he will sink your chances.

That's not to say that is what I think will happen. I'm just saying look at all the QBs around the country going into their second, third or fourth year that showed no improvement and you will see you MIGHT not get any improvement at all.

Very impressive. But Harris' name wasn't one of them. A LOT of LSU fans were counting on huge improvement in your QB play last year, and had similar reasons to back up their feelings. They were a little disappointed, were they not?

There has been one constant the past few years. Your QB coach. Think about that. Ok, the QB coach and Miles play calling. Has something changed with those two that we don't know about?

I wouldn't do that. I actually like LSU and I would hope you feel strongly about your chances. You have every right to. The only time I get rankled is when I see people making statements that Harris is going to improve because he has another year under his belt. It just doesn't work that way.
