it is very difficult to absolutely smother everyone on offense in the modern era of football

I agree

What I'm saying is we smothered no one on defense last year and went 10*-3 (Mcneese)

We held one team to under 20 pts besides ms state going for 2 to attempt to tie at 19. That's including syracuses w 5th string qb, western Kentucky in the rain...

With an elite DC and a Jr QB a one game improvement is crazy? Crazy enough to be the most overrated team in football? 11-2 is good for a top 5 finish almost every year.

Y'all beat us down the last few years while y'all had a bad record and ours was top 15 caliber.
That's what you are using to compare and justify us not having a top 5 ranking. We beat the majority of the other teams while y'all didn't though.

What I'm telling you is we are not that far off, if y'all would play every week like y'all play us y'all would be top 5-10 as well

If I had to bet on better record (higher ranking) I'd take LSU over Arkansas, if I had to bet on the winner in our head to head that would be a lot tougher

It really is amazing watching what y'all have done to us the last few seasons then comparing our w/l on the schedules

I lot of that has to do with the style of football Bert loves. People keep claiming we are a power run team but we are really a play action team. The primary goals of our running attack is to chew up time and set up our mostly medium to short range play action passes.

If LSU developed their play action passes to include more of those short to medium range passes I think the Bengals would be devastating. I troll LSU all the time but I really do think LSU has a good shot at the CFP next year if they develop their offense. Y'all are just too predictable most of the time in big games.

As for us and the top 10... I love Bert as our HC but until he has this team ready to come out of the gates and compete right away we are going to be that 6-8 wins a season team that you hate to see on your schedule late in the year.

That might be good enough to win the Big10 from time to time but it won't cut it in the SEC. Especially not in the West.

Anyway, good luck to y'all this year except for when you play us.
