What happened this season?

Pitching, which is weird to say for a Van Horn/Jorn coached team.

Taccolini started just like he left off last year. Making teams look silly. He then hit a very shitty stretch where he would only last an inning, starting. We had no solid starter behind him really other than McKinney. At the end of last season, McKinney was a big reason Arkansas made a run to Omaha. Though, he has always hit a wall in the late 4th inning or 5th inning. At times, we couldn't even get that much out of him.

Jackson was brought from his closing role to a starter. Even as a closer, he looked like shite this season. Walks, walks, and more walks.

Hitting has been inconsistent, but it has been good enough to win quite a few more games if it had some solid pitching behind it. I don't know how many leads our staff has blown this year, but they've blown quite a few.

IMO, this pitching staff isn't very coachable. Van Horn and Jorn are very proven in what they can do with coachable pitchers. Just look at MLB rosters. I think this is just a bad run of supposed to be high caliber guys, that just didn't pan out.
