Sad, but hard to feel too sad for a man that clearly led a very full life.

Hard to imagine nowadays a world in which your favorite college football players can reach the highest of heights on the gridiron and, upon receiving their degree, are immediately enlisted into the armed services to fight in the world's greatest and bloodiest war with the great potential of never being seen alive again.
Even harder to imagine the things such an individual learned over such a long life with that experience. I hope his grandchildren and great grandchildren took every moment to appreciate him.
