Was UGA's oldest living letterman. Served in the Army in the Pacific right after his senior season in 1942 during which time he was the lead blocker for Heisman winner Frank Sinkwich en route to UGA's first claimed national title.

A damn fine dawg and a damn finer American

Sad, but hard to feel too sad for a man that clearly led a very full life.

Second star on the right, and straight on 'til morning, Cliff.

Spent 2 days in/on the Normandy coast/region 2 weeks ago. Went to Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery @ Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, Point Du Hoc & Juno Beach. Also visited St. Michel....

Humbling experience, do it if you get the chance...
