I'm assuming this is travel ball since you're traveling 5 hours? Who is the host agency or organization?

Think she's talking about the UGA softball game and track meet

Usually an SEC official makes the call during SEC games. They're required to postpone a requisite amount of time for any lightning strike reported within a certain radius of the field. Just because rain stops and the sun comes out does not mean Lightning has ceased within that radius. Athens experienced pop up thunderstorm after pop up thunderstorm yesterday which is probably why they postponed; just too unpredictable to safely put players and fans out there
