Pete Carroll gets the nod as overall better coach because he was able to win on both the college and NFL level. Nick Saban is a better college coach (although it's close), and Pete Carroll is a better NFL coach (not very close at all).

Not sure if I agree with that entirely... Pete got TONS of "help" at USC(Reggie Bush.. cough cough)... Take away some of those players that he "recruited" and I don't think Pete wins quite as many games...
NFL yes Pete has done better, however, his teams were VASTLY more talented than Saban's teams at Miami and even still, he had Miami looking respectable...
Not saying that he would do better in the NFL than Carrol but I don't think we can definitively say that Pete is better... Interesting conversation though...

Now, yes. After being an NFL HC for a total of 10 seasons.
People have short term memories though. Pete Carrol went 6-10 in his first year as an NFL HC. Got fired.
In his next opportunity he went 10-6, 9-7, 8-8 (see the pattern of NOT getting better each year?). Got fired.
In Seattle, he went 7-9, 7-9 before finally breaking through to 11-5 and getting better from there. His first 6 seasons as an NFL HC he was a combined 47-49. Not exactly setting the world on fire.
