Honestly the media overplays everything to an extent. I'm not saying he's not an addict or not bad off by any means. I do think he needs help but I don't think it's near as bad as the media would have us believe it is. Also, the Browns sti owe him money for the next 2 years so he's not running out of money anytime soon.

An article said he was chain smoking at Coachella. Have you ever even heard of an NFL player that smokes cigarettes? I Loved Johnny Football up until the last couple months. I used to always take up for him. He's just made it impossible to like him anymore.

Yeah. Our prison system really turns people around...
I don't know how Texas works, but I doubt he would go to a full PMITA prison for a misdemeanor. More likely, he would get a few months in the county jail.
A few months in county might be exactly what he needs. No parties, no girls, no booze, limited to no access to drugs, no spotlight, and someone other that Johnny deciding what he will do and when he will do it.

All crimes require an indictment of presentment before they can move on to circuit court. Nothing strange about that. What is slightly atypical is he wasn't charged first.

He doesn't want to play pro football. It's really not that complicated. He's blowing a great opportunity. But at this point it's not a mistake. It's a choice.

He'll probably just pay a $425 fine and that'll be the end of it.

In Texas, only a felony requires an indictment. Manziel might be charged with a Class A misdemeanor if they allege bodily harm--if they can't prove that, then it's an offensive touching Class C (fine only--same as a speeding ticket). The DA taking a misdemeanor to the grand jury is a little unusual, and a sure indication that the DA doesn't feel like they have a strong case (but doesn't want to take the heat for dismissing the case).

I'd bet it's the latter and not the former.
Also interesting about Texas law if you're correct.
All crimes require an indictment or presentment in Tennessee. Typically it goes Police arrest, D.A. Charges, preliminary hearing, bound over to grand jury, indictment, trial.

jail time would be time well spent reflecting on his decisions

So, rehab.

everyone thinking you can't get drugs in jail are very misguided. there is just as much drugs in jail as there is outside. same as in prison. jailers don't make a bunch of money and are willing to sneak stuff into inmates for a nominal fee. if Johnny goes to jail he will be high in there too.

more than likely, this charge is reduced to a misdemeanor, and Manziel doesn't spend a day in jail.
