I think Auburn will be the biggest underdog.

Our best hope is that Watson has a really bad day.

Last year, I saw them play down several times when they were away.

It is not much, but it is my hope.

I think USC will be a good challenge to Alabama from a talent standpoint, but I do not think they can score on Alabama.

What does UNC bring back this year? They might have a shot early at UGA. I think UGA is one of those teams that will be much stronger by the fifth game or so.

Still this looks to be a very fun opening weekend.

I hope the SEC sweeps but doubt it happens.

And it's nothing against Auburn. Clemson is just loaded.

The big key loss for UNC is their QB.....but he made the offense go. It will depend largely on if the new guy is as talented as their last guy.

I made this post about some fo their losses:

quote:

Key Losses:
QB- Marquise Williams
Completed 60% of his passes for 3,000 yards, 24 TDs and 10 Int. Also ran for 950 yards and 13 TDs.

WR- Quinshad Davis
55 rec for 640 yards and 4 TD

OL- starting RG landon turner

DL- starting DT justin thomason
42 tackles, 3.5 sacks

LB- shakeel rashad and jeff schoettmer
Rashad had 126 tackles and 2 INT
Schoettmer had 97 takcles and 2 INT

On paper, UNC brings back a pretty high amount of players who started last year. They return most of both lines, most RBs/WRs, and the secondary.

However, their losses are pretty significant. Anyone who watched UNC last year saw quite clearly that Williams made them go. Losing him will be massive, and his backup threw 47 passes last year. Put up solid numbers, but again mostly in backup duty. They also lose 2 of their top 3 tacklers and 24% of their INT production from last year.

They actually do return a godo bit but they lost their best player at QB which is good for us. I think they gave up 600+ yards rushing in their last game so it seems to me that if we get any kind of passing game we should be ok.

We have plenty of games I am worried about losing, but not UCLA.

The only sure loss I see, besides Vandy or SC, is Missouri losing to West Virginia.

Auburn will somehow stay with Clemson throughout and will have a chance to win in the 4th quarter.

If Georgia starts the true freshman, they could lose. The safe bet would be to go with a experienced QB and run the ball with a pass here and there.

Typically that would be my mindset as well. I'm usually pretty risk averse and on paper it'd seem like the smart call to start lambert.

But after seeing every snap he's taken at UGA, the guy simply isn't any good. He has zero business being a starting QB at UGA. Eason will struggle, he'll make some bad reads, probably make a few excited throws, etc. But he also gives us a credible downfield threat and can make every single throw possible with an NFL arm. Lambert can't do that. Strictly talking about game 1 against UNC, lambert's floor is pretty high but his ceiling is pretty low. Eason's floor may be a notch or 2 lower, but his ceiling is many notches higher.

Well I guess there are a couple of ways of looking at it.

I think Eason is the future, for sure.

UNC is a big game, but not a conference one. It might be better to bring him along slowly instead of throwing him into the fire on game one. Especially if the Oline looks to be struggling.

Honestly, though UGA is in a good position. Good coaches, good talent and fanbase enthusiasm. There might be some bumps this year, but it has to be exciting for UGA fans!

You would have to say Mizzou or Ole Miss

Georgia could very well lose to North Carolina.

It's both. Clemson has looked that good, and Auburn has looked that bad.

You have zero chance to "curb stomp FSU", so put that out of your mind right now.

Realistically, AU is playing the best team so it's us.

LSU could lose to Wisc. because of where the game's being played. If it were a true neutral site, like Dallas, or Houston, the Tigers win BIG.

How is our back yard neutral for a Yankee school?

I honestly don't know how West Virginia's going to look, but you gotta think Mizzou's gonna be playing even worse than they did last year.
The only reason I don't think Auburn is the most sure fire loss is that Auburn always does best when no one thinks they'll be any good.
I think they'll be a 7-5 team this year, which means they could be the West Champs for all we know. They usually do the opposite of preseason predictions, good or bad.
