Dude did you not see the difference in the 2014 and 2015 Alabama defense

Duuuude. Did you not read my previous comment about returning experience being *more valuable* when there isn't a big change in coaching. 2014 and 2015 Bama still had Nick Saban (defensive minded HC) and Kirby Smart (DC) - so no wholesale changes in philosophy, terminology, scheme, etc... Or in other words, the learning from the previous season was cumulative. With a change at DC, it doesn't make that experience "worthless", but I do think it makes it "worth less". Similarly for UGA this year, while we've got a fair amount of returning talent on D, I have a sneaking suspicion that the defense may regress a bit, at least early on.

LSU fans on this forum are great. I've explicitly stated that I actually think you'll have a strong team this year, and you want to nitpick. It's not like I said you'd lose to Moo State or anything. So sensitive.

LSU had Miles in 2008 and Miles in 2009, difference was the bad Co-DCs then Chavis. Defense improved dramatically keeping teams out of end zone. Aranda is a gigantic step up from Steele and no one really doubts that. On top of that, we return most everyone on that side of the ball. Experience is always huge, changing schemes or not.

Not sensitive at all or have my panties in a bunch. You make valid points but fail to see other posters valid points then proceed to say someone is sensitive. It's your world friend, we're just living in it

From everything I have read and heard about Aranda's defense it's the simplicity that makes it so effective. The call is the call. The offense doesn't usually dictate what his "D" does. Very little checks and changes at the LOS.

In his first and only year at Utah St (2012) he had them them top 15 in the four major defensive rankings.

Scoring D -7th ** Rush D - 13th ** Pass D - 8th
Total D 14th

His first year at Wisconsin he switched their "D" from 4-3 to a 3-4 (sounds familiar). With only six returning starters he had the badgers in top 10 in three top defensive catagories.

Scoring D - 6th ** Rush D - 5th ** Total D - 7th

Pass D was in top 20 at 17th

Aranda has track record of being very successful in his first year at a school.
