re: CNS says Bateman would be starter if season started today

I think we can all agree that Bateman, in his limited action, practice reports and prep resume, is an option that everyone is more confident in than we were with Blake or Coker (even those of us who loved Blake and desperately wanted him to succeed).

Bateman was a highly recruited kid who played in a talentless high school area and needed major time to adapt to SEC football. He has a skillset that is plenty good enough to win football games in the SEC, especially with our roster. On top of that, we have a coach who has already shown he can win with guys who are MUCH less polished and ready than Bateman appears to be.

Like GetitRight said, I was hoping Barnett would take the job by the horns and be a star for 3 years. However, I'm totally content with Bateman running the show.
