It's not about consumer vs business owner rights. Religion is a protected category from discrimination at the workplace just like race, gender, disability, etc. You shouldn't be able to force someone to participate in something that goes against their sincere religious convictions at work by threat of legal punishment.

Baking a cake for a gay couple doesn't go against any Christianity sect that I've ever heard of.
