Crazy to think that the sport you have the most passion for and built in recruiting advantage in may bring up the tail end of the big 3 sports. With the pitching you have, you shoul definitely be in contention to win the division, though State is strong.

all i see is a whole lot of talk with mediocre results

There is no built in advantage in recruiting for football. Football is a #s game. You need to build a strong 85 man roster. The state of TX has 12 DI football teams (5 in Power 5 conferences). UF is the only school that has a similar situation. The TX kids didn't grow up wanting to play in the SEC. Most of the TX kids that go to LSU are actually originally from LA.

Give A&M a few more years to infiltrate LA. Those kids could supplement the TX kids.
