I came up here to watch the series and thought I'd share my first SEC away series I've been to.

The field and park was very nice and clean. I didn't have trouble parking at all and it was close to the gates.

Now, I had some good encounters with fans, but the fan base as a whole I didn't like very much. I don't mind the occasional heckling that's normal for baseball, but when you're constantly chanting the pitchers first name, hollering "BALL 5" or "BALL 6" for consecutive balls thrown, or chanting at coach mainieri "crazy old man" as he's walking back from a mound visit...it's a little annoying. They're not that bad if that's all they're doing, right? Wrong.

Anytime LSU had a "geaux tigers", "L-S-U", or "let's go tigers" chant, all the A&M fans around would start beating their rings on the benches to drown out the chant. I can understand if you want to start your own chant to drown it out, but it was like a BLM protest where they don't realize their way of making their voice heard is immature.

The thing that bothered me the most is the press box. The announcer would play these little soundtracks that were pretty childish. Here's some I can remember off the top of my head:

Wild pitch = born to be wild
Foul ball that lands just foul = get back by the Beatles.
Intentional walk = chicken noise
Catcher/pitcher meeting = little less talk and a lot more action

It felt like the press box was encouraging the childish atmosphere. Now, I'm not saying LSU is perfect, but damnit I know our atmosphere is way more enjoyable than A&Ms.

They must do that to everyone over a certain age ... they use that one on me, around here, all the time.

I look forward to going to a series there eventually though.

We've got them at our place this year - we'll have to try to show them how it's done properly in the SEC.

I'm not sure they've ever won a game here? I dunno ... I wanna say we're something like 10-1 vs A&M and the one game we lost was at their place :::: knock on wood ::::

A&m has some weird traditions. But none of that sounds over the top, just annoying. Who cares

That park is pretty nice, but college station is pretty ugly

There's a couple sayings about dishing and pots and kettles that I think apply here.

You sound like a giant pussy. It's an away game and the students and fans can yell and chant whatever they want. Every other school has annoying and childish fans, it's all part of it. If all of that bothered you, I would recommend watching golf or tennis.

None of the Aggy things mentioned by the OP sound like anything to be annoyed by. And, why the hell would you expect another team's fans to let you do an LSU chant in their stadium? If Aggies chanted in Death Valley I'd try to drown them out in one way or another, but all in good fun.

That sounds horrifying. I hope you find the strength to recover from it.

Jesus, you, as a LSU fan, are complaining about your chants being drowned out at an opposing venue?

I believe it's "dirty old man" after the coach slaps the young pitcher on the arse.
