Of course we would. Last year would be a perfect example.

I hear this argument with Cal, what about Izzo? What about those senior lead teams he takes to the Final 4...he has only one title.

This year was sort of a perfect storm for UK to not to make it far outside of the 2 guards. This was a dreadful recruiting class overall and team used the platoon system to negatively recruit against them. He missed out on a ton of guys you would think UK could usually get. Two of the guys they got Briscoe and Skal never quite lived up to what they should have been either. The bigs were never consistent for UK and that was always the fear heading in to the tournament. It didn't help that they had to play the damn outright Big 10 champs in the 2nd round.

Murray went cold and the bigs didn't show up. Bad recipe for them to win against a talented team like IU.

As Sam Vecenie wrote for CBS, this was sort of a transition year for UK. Next year's team will likely look more like one of the juggernaut's we've seen.
