WTF kind of airlines do you fly? When you're on takeoff/landing yeah it's best to put it on airplane mode (but if you don't it's not going to crash the plane) and when you're at 10k feet it doesn't matter whether you have it on or off.

Airplane mode does not effect the plane at all. Not one bit
