I went to church and worked in my yard, to make my street great again.

transplanted about 200 tomato plants for the garden - probably didn't do much to make America great again

Went to TCU vs UH baseball game at Minute Maid park. Sat behind home plate 2 rows up from Andy Petite who was there with the sponsors Shiners Hospital. The baseball was yawn worthy but the beers with friends and jokes were on point. Had a great Sunday.

Not today. But I mentor at an inner city elementary school every week. That helps me feel like I make a difference. These young inner city kids are generally pretty cool in all honesty, at least the ones I deal with. I just think some kids deal with shite and eventually their attitudes turn to shite

I'll give you couple of my kids on my caseload. We've hit the point where they need a new voice

Lol, if it was realistic to help, I would. I've been kinda unintentionally trained as an interviewer so I think that helps. I happened to be in the room when they brought in this kid who was having some sort of tantrum. I had no business doing anything at all but I was proud with me going out of the way and trying to reach out to him. I had both the principle and counselor I should go into counseling :).

I usually get the harder cases and there is just a couple that have gotten into what I call Eeyore syndrome. But I can't light their arse up because it would drive them into clinical depression. The Anxiety NOS is making them basically depressed because they can't see how they've improved and we've been together so long that they just need a new voice. I probably need some also. It's started making me doubt how effective I am.

Dude, I understand. I was supposed to get a student whose mother was a prostitute who lived with his grandmother who abused him. A few days before I was to meet him, I find out this little first grader had been institutionalized. I ain't a social worker. I'm just a guy who comes to show these kids Someone gives a shite about them. That being said, I do goofy shite and definitely make fun of myself. I'll toss a football with them or play charades with them or I'll make them work on math problems. It sounds like your position is fundamentally different than mine though.
