Kentucky basketball is the equivalent of USC football, a very dominant program beating up on a weak conference.

Except for that whole second most National Championships thing among other statistics they lead against all schools or are at worst 2nd behind UCLA or UNC/Duke.

quote:

Kentucky leads all schools in total NCAA tournament appearances (54), NCAA tournament wins (120), NCAA Tournament games played (167), NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances (41), NCAA Elite Eight appearances (36), and total postseason tournament appearances (63). Further, Kentucky has played in 17 NCAA Final Fours (tied for 2nd place all-time with UCLA), 12 NCAA Championship games (tied for the most all-time with UCLA), and has won 8 NCAA championships (second only to UCLA's 11). In addition to these titles, Kentucky won the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) in both 1946 and 1976, making it the only school to win multiple NCAA and NIT championships.

Equivalent to Alabama leading the country in most Bowl Games and most Bowl Wins, including mostly Sugar/Orange/Cotton/Rose type bowls in the era when not everybody just went to Bowls (like UK with the NCAAT pre-1985).

Equivalent to Alabama having 10 AP National Titles, #1, and Notre Dame having 8, #2

The two programs are pretty much the same
