Was just listening To taylor Zarzour on Sirius and he was questioning Ben Simmons himself.
Taylor said first of all, LSU with an RPI Of 81 won't be in the tourney. UK has turned out to be horses--t, not many good wins.

Zarzour's biggest point was if he knew he'd be one and done why'd he pick LSU? His words were, YOu could go anywhere so why not go to a place that will compete for a national title ala Carmello or any Kentucky player. Taylor said LSU has zero players besides him. If he was gonna be one and done why would you go to a program that is not a national contender. His stock has done nothing but stay steady at best. It certainly hasn't risen like it would have at UNC, Kansas, etc.

It's a fair point. I wondered from day one why he picked LSU to be honest when he could literally have gone anywhere.

That is silly. LSU has plenty of players besides Simmons.

Antonio Blakeney - 5 star freshman
Tim Quarterman - 4 star junior, will probably play in the NBA (though he's trying to destroy that lately)
Craig Victor - 4 star sophomore transfer
Keith Hornsby - very solid role player

LSU isn't good because J. Jones is a bad head coach. LSU should be a Top 20 team with a Top 3-6 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Well, I think it is very clear now that he partially went because a family member was on the staff, his uncle I believe

Disagree with him on this. LSU has a good roster, maybe not very deep but still a good one. Obviously he picked the wrong school if his biggest concern was winning the NC.

For the 100th time, he chose LSU because of his family connection to David Patrick.

Did he make the wrong decision? Sure, one can argue that in hindsight.

Eh, no. Late blooming? Sure. But you'd have to be expecting last season's results to call this team "horseshite".

LSU hired someone with a personal connection to him. It's really that simple.

They had a Top 5 recruiting class with some depth. This is about as patently false as it gets.
