I said I loved Coker and he was a ballsy player, all of which is true. But I think trying to make him out as some amazing qb who could sling it over the field actually diminishes what I like most about him his grit and toughness and passion and that helped him step up and play beyond himself (along with a few busted coverages) but saying that doesn't take anything away from him or what he accomplished.

Now having said that, going in to a new season, I'll take anither ballsey player who happens to be a better passer IMO. I don't think one game defines who Blake Sims was for Alabama.

They have very similar stories and I think the experience in the 2014 probably helped the entire team go in to 2015 with a different mindset. Just my opinion.

I can see where you'd want Sims, but I think Coker is just as good, if not better. Sims played his heart out at UA, but he isn't necessarily more talented than Coker. An objective view of this is to watch the upcoming draft. Sims has had trouble finding a consistent landing spot in CFL whereas Coker is projected to be drafted in the late rounds, and likely will make a practice squad at the minimum.

Coker won the National Championship, Sims lost in the playoffs. Fair or unfair, QBS are judged by winning.

Give me Coker and it's not close
