Can a college football team keep playing football if their associated college is shut down? Asking for a friend.

Good. Football should always take a backseat to people's livelihood.

Growing up in south Alabama, this was a pretty common scare tactic to raise taxes or cut some other types of funding. I remember several years in a row that Mobile city politicians wanted to raise sales taxes, etc and threatened to suspend high school football if the taxes weren't passed. Just like clockwork, everyone decided new taxes were a good idea.

But he has no problem giving welfare benefits to able-bodied, childless adults who refuse to work.

LSU could be in a worse financial situation than Tenner who has no reserves.

Are we really going to have this discussion every time one of the politicians threatens to shut down LSU as a scare tactic to push through more taxes?

Let me know when they've shut down Southern, Southeastern, ULL, ULM etc. etc. At that point, I may actually start to worry about LSU.

Personally, I think TAMU should just buy LSU outright and make it a satellite campus. put that oil money to use before its gone.
