And losing 90% of your scoring and only enrolling ONE player is grounds for me to question the coaches work ethic on the recruiting trail.

I mean, you do understand we only signed ONE player this past recruiting cycle, right?

That is just unfathomable to me considering Mike's style. He likes to run and play in your face defense...He should never sign ONE player when he is losing that much.

Kentucky is the only team in the league that can lose that much production and still be selected high.

Its not about being Kentucky. At all. It is about being Arkansas. It is about playing the brand of basketball Mike wants to play, which is similar to what Nolan played.

Nolan didn't recruit all scorers. The 1994 team had scorers in Thurman and Williamson...defense in McDaniel...floor general in Beck...hot shooter off the bench in Dillard.

It is not about recruiting the high profile kids in this system...It is more about a collection of role players to go with your two or three stars. Mike hasn't even been getting role players. This is what makes me mad. Nobody is asking for a slew of 5 stars, or one and done players, but most of us know what he needs to have this system work. One and done players aren't always going to work in his system. His system isn't going to be a favorite of theirs.

He can't go a recruiting cycle and only sign one kid when 4 leave. It just isn't going to work, at all.

We have talent coming back next year and a good recruiting class

There is some talent coming back. We will see what Kingsley decides, but we do return Hannahs. We lose Durham, Bell, Kuassi(sp), and Miles. So we lose the floor general, our best shooter, and two bench players.

The recruiting class is yet to be seen. I am always nervous about JUCOs. Usually, their second year is their best. I don't want to wait another year. Hopefully they come in and mesh well and everything goes as planned.

Also, do not get the idea that I hate Mike. I don't. I want him to be here for as long as he is a basketball coach.

I was happy when we hired him. I wanted him hired here before.

Sometimes, you just have to put personal feelings aside and see the lack of progress in the program in year 5. It is disappointing so far. 27 wins was great last year, but he was not prepared at all to grow on that season with the departures.
