Najee Harris new No. 1 Player according to 247:
quote:
Alabama commit Najee Harris, a 2017 five-star running back from Antioch (Calif.), is now rated the No. 1 overall player in the country by 247Sports.
Harris, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound back made the big jump from No. 6 to No. 1.
The UA commit had a huge junior season rushing for 2,744 yards and 36 touchdowns, averaging over a whopping 11 yards per carry.
Harris committed to Alabama during A-Day last April and since has only seen his stock rise with in-state programs like USC and UCLA, as well as other national powers like Notre Dame and Michigan, breathing down his neck for a flip.
The Golden State prospect is one of three top tier running backs committed to UA in the 2017 class joining four-stars Cam Akers and Brian Robinson.

Tee Higgins jumped up over 45 spots to #6 overall.
We led for him early then he committed to Tennessee only to decommit last week.
Most assume Ole Miss leads now.

Clemson bound. He wants to play with that 5* QB Hunter Johnson.

Looks like Brian Robinson dropped to a 3-star as well.

Sounds like Amari Rodgers might want to as well.

That's his original ranking. 247 started him at 89.

Well initially he was a 4-star with an 89.5 or more. Now he's a 3-star 89.
I don't like how they use those decimal points to determine star level status.

The RB from Tuscaloosa?? He had a monster year. What in the world?

They only do that for the composite rankings. His 247 ranking has been 89. Either way he'll end up a 4 star when they update the 2017 rankings.

Can vouch he was a 3*, saw it last week looking at some guys.
Was looking why he was so low in their position rankings and why Fromm was so low in their state rankings.
Can't imagine either stay the same...

You never know when it comes to rankings. When Riley Cole committed last year they were so high on him and said he was the best coverage linebacker last year, he was going to get a bump...

an RB transfer doesn't ruin your chances of keeping a back if he's a grad transfer a la Sanders or Green

We just offered a legacy '17 DE Justin Thomas from Spanish Fort. Son of Atlas Herrion.

Let's hope we can keep our legacies like Tenn.

We already got a CB for him.

Anyone else notice N.Harris getting caught from behind by high school competition too often in his hudl film ? I'm not sure how a RB that often gets chased down by h.s. d's is the no.1 player in the country.
Dont be flames; just call it how I see it. Akers film "looks" more impressive, but maybe I'm missing something.

Hopefully the NCAA investigation going on at Ole Miss will help Bama hold on to Akers.

I've watched both players tape and would rank Harris slightly above Akers
