They cost the taxpayers absolutely nothing, till Mitch, decided the city would foot the cost for removing the vandalism, he encourages. That way, he can use that as another reason to take them down.
All upkeep, and cleaning had for the last 25 years, been done by the Monumental Task Committee.

They may not cost any money once they are up, but if they were sold off they would actually MAKE money. As someone who doesn't like government debt I support that.
