Going into '17 our DL looks like this:

Michael Barnett - Jr
Justin Young - Soph
Jonathen Ledbetter - Jr
Michail Carter - Soph
Tyler Clark- Soph
Julian Rochester- Soph
Daquan Hawkins - Jr
Trent Thompson - Jr
Jon Atkins - Sr

I get wanting to have class separation but that's not exactly inspiring a ton of confidence. Surely some of those young guys that haven't played much will get their chance this year and could potentially be dynamic heading into '17. But still, if you can find a JUCO DL for next year that can help, you take him.

OK. If we can't find a JUCO DT capable of starting, we shouldn't take him. Not having offered one yet isn't a good indication of that being the case.

It's just a shitty, shitty class of DTs across the board. We'd be better off taking a project freshman who might someday help us than some blah JUCO who doesn't make us any better, imo.

Obviously the depth chart looks a little rough, but this is Kirby's call. He's said that they aren't gonna throw out last minute offers. Honestly, I looked at the Top247 and the quality for not just DT's, but the DL in general, just really isn't there. Not because we aren't in play for anyone, but it's just a fact. Many that are listed as DE's are probably more of OLB's for us, IMO.

If we are unable to flip Soloman, it's a blow for sure, simply because he's at a position of need. I saw somewhere he had stated he wasn't even from Georgia, was born in California, so he really doesn't have that desire to stay home. That being said, with the way his recruitment has gone, get him on campus and all bets are off, he changed his leader every time he visited a school.
