I just don't get it. If I were a Bama fan, I'd brag about being the Big 1 while laughing at the little 13.

Bragging about what other teams do...guess I'll never understand it.

Oh, we do. Did you not see SUPER 1 and Big 5?

Nobody is bragging. I am analyzing the facts and the facts show that there is a clear line of distinction between #1 and everyone else and #2-6 and everyone else.

While Bama is for sure the clear cut #1... its impossible to ignore the fact that there is a "Next 5" of whom one more often than not wins the SEC ahead of Alabama.

Since Bear Bryant came to Alabama (1957), there have been 72 SEC football championship trophies presented to teams. Alabama has 20 of those 72. The next closest teams (Georgia & LSU) each have 9.

So while Alabama has more than double any other single team, on average one of those other teams wins it over Alabama 4 out of every 5 years.

Yes you can clearly state that Alabama is #1. But you also have to acknowledge that the "Next 5" are more than just relevant when it comes to winning SEC Championships. One of those other 5 wins it about 80% of the time.
