It is all about where you go, even within a single state.

There are places in the Delta where the difference between Louisiana-Mississippi-Arkansas is solely the license plates. There are spots in West Alabama that really are no different than West Georgia, etc.

There are a handful of best places to live in any given state, almost all of which would at least be tolerable. As to the best, it will likely be subjective to their access to your favorite forms of recreation.

This.

It's all about the specific locale in any state and there are places I wouldn't mind living in all of them.

No offense to Razorback fans, but I'd much rather live in Alabama than Arkansas. Or Mississippi for that matter.

Well, the worst places in Arkansas and Tennessee are like most of Mississippi, so...

I wouldn't trade where I live in Alabama for anywhere else in the SEC, Huntsville/Madison.

It's been a long time since I've visited Huntsville and I know it's grown a lot since. I always considered it a boring, unattractive city, so I was surprised when I began hearing how nice it is immediately after my last visit. That's probably true, but it seems like there would be much better places to live in Alabama then Huntsville?

One thing I always found funny about many naive Arkansas/Tennessee residents is that both think the other is completely like Memphis and the area surrounding the delta. It's sorta like Georgia residents, who all seem to think Arkansas is like Deliverance, even though the movie took place in their neck of the woods.

I'm originally from Missouri, so unlike many here, I like the state. But if I had to choose a favorite SEC state to live, I'm not sure I could do it.
