You sure about that? Before Saban, the last time they were ranked in the top 5 was 5th in 1994. 1994 to Saban era, they were ranked in the top 25 5 times (ineligible for one of those rankings) , only twice in the top 10.

We were preseason/Week 1 #3 in 2000. We were #3 late in 2005. Those were with HCs Dubose and Shula.
