I don't know. I think Florida State's run from 1990-2000 (11 years) may be more impressive if you consider the timing.

Alabama has dominated during a fairly turbulent time for a lot of programs. Since 2008, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Auburn have all had at least one losing season. Florida has had 3 different head coaches. Auburn has had 3 different head coaches. Tennessee has had 4 different head coaches. And Georgia has now hired its 2nd head coach during the period.

Florida State finished in the AP Top 4 every single season from 1990-2000. They were also ranked in every single AP Poll release during that time. While they only won 2 National Titles, college football was way more top heavy at that time.

From 1990-2000:
Florida State was ranked in 186 of 186 AP poll releases (100%)
Nebraska was ranked in 186 of 186 AP poll releases (100%)
Florida was ranked in 184 of 186 AP poll releases (98.9%)

Not one other program aside from Alabama has been rated in even 94% of the poll releases from 2008-2015. Oklahoma is next at 93.1%... but Bama has only played Oklahoma one time during this time period. LSU is 3rd at 92%. And while LSU has been strong from 2008-2015, they are no Florida or Nebraska during the '90s.

Florida State, Florida and Nebraska accounted for 5 of the 11 national titles during this 11-year stretch.

Florida State played Florida 13 times during this 11-year period. They also played Miami every season, who was ranked in 155 of 186 polls during that stretch... and also claimed a National Title in 1991.

Due to the fact that Florida State, Florida, and Miami were all beating each other up inside the same state... all while Nebraska was dominating and practically ranked in the Top 5 or 10 for a decade+... FSU's streak may be more impressive.

A record of 120-15-1 over that time period is pretty impressive considering how many top tier games they played in during that time.

They're different kinds of impressive. The FSU years are from 1987 to 2000. It's an extremely impressive resume for that time period. We frequently had one loss seasons where the only loss came against the National Champion. Most of the losses during those years came to teams who finished in the top 5.

That said... we only produced two championships during those years. On some level, it feels like we were good like the Buffalo Bills from 1990-1993. Great year in, year out performances, but just missing (frequently wide right) winning it all.

I think, as of now, the FSU streak is the most impressive "long" dynasty; however, Alabama's is much more impressive in terms of performance over a shorter period of time. It's also ongoing.

I also think that in terms of the CFB environment, what Alabama has accomplished is perhaps the most impressive thing in CFB history. Recruiting has changed so much and teams that were never on the radar for recruits are now.

While maybe not approaching Alabama from 2008-2015, or Florida, Florida State and Nebraska in the 1990s, LSU has held its own from 2000-2015, being one of only a couple of teams in the nation to do ALL of the following (together):

* Go to a bowl game every year since 2000 (winning 10)
* Have a winning season every year since 2000.
* Be ranked in the Top 25 a majority of weeks every week from 2000-2015, except for a few weeks in 2000, 2002, 2008, 2013, 2014. I believe we have made the final rankings every year except 2002.
* Played in 3 NC games and 5 SECC games (winning 6 titles.)
* Won 4 BCS bowls out of 5.
* Been in the Top 5 in recruiting at least 6 times, and in the Top 10 at least 10 times.

It should be noted that LSU was #12 in all-time NCAA victories and#10 in all-time bowl apps..........

I'd respect FSU's run, if they hadn't pussed out of joining the SEC. Bowden even said he didn't want to have to play the tougher competition. Avoiding elite teams drops them a few points.
