I don't have a "solid" analysis, but cliffs is this:
I liken their offense to a starburst. Most activity is lateral, they want space and pace to create a game of chase meaning they believe if they can make teams have to race them to a spot or chase down a scrambling QB, etc, they believe they win. You beat a team like that by controlling chunks of the field so that you don't have to chase. Instead they would be moving into a region you already control which is a no-win situation for them. That is why I think Bama really controls this game from start to finish. I believe Bama can get off blocks, and control the areas they're assigned to.
