I think the Alabama-Notre Dame game is a much better comparison.

How is that a better comparison, we beat the shite out of Notre Dame. Miami was highly favored to beat Alabama in 1992 and Alabama beat the shite out of them. People are acting like Alabama is going to walk all over Clemson and believe me it is pissing them off and they are a good football team. Dabo's team at Clemson this year reminds me of that Alabama team that everyone wrote off as too weak to beat Miami. Remember this, Dabo was on that 1992 NC team at Alabama and you can bet your arse he has talked to his team about it.

1. Notre Dame was very workman like, relying on their defense to win ball games (much like Alabama in 1992)

2. Notre Dame was a heavy underdog going into the championship game (+9), which is very comparable to the +10.5 Alabama was at going into the game against Miami in New Orleans.

3. You were asking for similar feels pre-game. This match-up between Alabama and Clemson feels nothing like the pre-game vibe prior to the '93 Sugar Bowl. Alabama was given absolutely no chance (much like Notre Dame), while many people are saying Clemson has the horses to beat us (which they do).

The only way I saw ND even staying with us was by us playing down to their level. If we have an off-game against Clemson on Monday night we most likely lose. That's the difference.
