I have seen lots of talk of Florida Football sucking and that it's trash. My Question is what does it say about Tennessee that they have lost to Florida 11 straight years and have only beat Florida 6 times in 40? Very intrigued to find out the answer.

A lot of Florida fans seem very angry. Why is that? Very intrigued to find out the answer.

Only 6 times in the last 40 years? That can't be true can it?

We have historically battled Florida for the SEC East. You understandably remind us that we haven't beaten you while going through the worst continuous coaching carousel an SEC power has ever seen. That's apparently enough for you to deny that Tennessee will ever beat Florida, and that next season will without a doubt be a mediocre season for us. We see the changes, we look at the roster and we know that there are no weaknesses on our team anymore, as well as depth we haven't seen since 2004. As a Tennessee fan, I have been able to notice and admit positive changes in our rivals and other SEC teams, something every other fan base refuses to do for Tennessee simply because we have been irrelevant in recent history.

How many times must I explain?

The fact is, NO game played from 05-14 has any bearing on where the programs are at right now and their direction in the future. I have no problem admitting that overall during that time period, UF was better than UT, and I don't think I'd get any arguments there.

But right now, Florida is a bad football team. They are closer to Vandy and FAU levels then FSU, Bama or Michigan levels, and the games proved it. With the exception of the UGA game, UF played extremely poorly without a QB that was using steroids. They lose a lot of seniors and juniors from this year, not only on defense (their strong unit) but also at RB and WR as well. Combine that with QB uncertainty and UF doesn't look very good next year.

Tennessee meanwhile ended the year with a 7-1 record in their last 8 games, including two wins against top 25, 10-win teams, one of which was by 39. UT had little difficulty rolling over inferior opponents, something UF struggled to do, and our lone loss was by 5 points against probably the best team in the nation, a team who lead UF by 22 before a garbage time TD. Also, the Vols return all of their most vital pieces on offense, and most on defense (still waiting on decisions from Sutton and JRM.) With one more recruiting class, we should finally have all the depth and experience needed to compete for titles.

So forgive me if I fail to recognize this streak as proof that UF is better than UT right now, because all the other evidence seems to indicate otherwise.

One team will finish the season ranked in the top 15-20.

The other team won't even sniff the top 25 after getting their frick beat by the big 10.

All is well.

Enjoy talking this streak up while you can. Streaks always come to an end. Vol fans used to do the same to Vandy until Franklin destroyed the streak with some nice beat downs. I expect the Vols to do the same at some point.
