I'm not wishing shite, I don't root for Clemson don't give a crpa about them. Just being fair and saying "Clemsoning" refered to dropping a clunker against a less talented team at some inoportune time... not against the dominant program in CF in the most important game.

one season doesn't erase a "culture". Give me three years of data and then we will talk.

True but Clemson has fielded mostly strong teams in recent years and toying with a season like this for a while.... perhaps prevented by a few "clemsoning" moments... but still raising the bar for while. This is not Kentucky going to the Championship next season either.

Over the past 3 seasons, Clemson is 35-5.

That's not too shabby.

I hate to say this, but Deshaun Watson is the anti-Clemsoning QB they have been looking for. I was praying he would be another Tajh Boyd, but he is WAY better than Tajh ever dreamt of being and is a super clutch player. Next Monday will be a close game.

The last Clemson team to lose to an unranked team was to NC State in 2011. There was a stat back in Sept. that 28 different schools a total of 44 times have 'Clemsoned' since that loss. It has obviously gone up since that was early in the season.

And ... in the meantime ... Clemson has stacked up some wins in the last several years against some pretty big-name teams.

Just off the top of my head: FSU, Ohio St., Notre Dame, LSU, Oklahoma.

Bottom line is that Dabo and Watson have done a lot to erase the "clemsoning" stigma.

the term "CLEMSONING" is around to stay. You gave birth to it. You, CLEMSON, may have grown out of it, but it still is your child - it will always be linked to you guys. Sorry.

I always thought Clemsoning was their tendency to rattle off 9 straight wins and get tons of attention and accolades then lose to an inferior opponent.

Though if Clemson starts with a 35 pt lead over Bama then blows it I would feel comfortable expanding the definition.

One of my favorites:

W. Virginia Returns Clemson Fumble 99 Yards for TD

And then they went on to hang 70...

Great comment! Now look at what has happened to Clemson since that arse-whipping and look at what happened to WVU.

That beating was probably the single best thing that helped to improve our program because Dabo fired Kevin Steele and hired Brent Venables and we have now won two Orange Bowls, playing for the Natty and even Beat top 10 LSU.

I just wish there was a way both teams could lose.
