I wouldn't mind if they added two teams to the playoff field. Six teams would be the absolute perfect number IMO. There's been six teams with zero or one losses at the end of the regular season the last three years. You would give all the teams with one loss a shot or in this year's case, all of the conference champions + Ohio State. But Stanford had two losses and Ohio State blew it against Michigan State. In the current system, they just didn't do enough to get in.

Number of wins should matter as much or even more when one of those wins is a conference championship game


Stanford won the same number of games as ou but their victories were better quality

And ou's loss was atrocious
