2. Yards Allowed per game 408
3. Rushing Yards per game 150
4. Passing Yards per game 258
5. Sacks per game 1.5
6. 3rd Down Conv Rate 38%
7. SEC Def. Rank 8
8. Nat'l Def Rank 53
9. Years Steele on staff 3.0

Every stop Steele's had as a DC has resulted in an immediate drop in that team's defensive standings in both yards and points per game. Wherever AU finished this season, expect to drop between 5-10 places.

Going by history, it would get even worse after that but it won't happen at AU. He will be fired with Gus at the end of the 2016 season.

If we had better players the numbers would have been better. All depends on how good Auburn's personel is.

We lose a couple defensive backs, all of our starting linebackers and maybe Lawson. Losing the linebackers might be a good thing though because we need to get rid of some bad habits.

If Lawson and Adams stay I expect the progression of improvement to continue. If they leave all bets are off.

Also, defensive coordinators tend to have their statistically worst years when coupled with Malzahn offenses.
