you are right, I absolutely don't think I'm dumb but you are DAMN right I don't have the physics background required. Through all of high school and 4 years of undergrad I have taken exactly 0 physics courses I have a basic understanding that unfortunately is more than most ppl on this weather stuff but that's more a reflection on them than me

Also, I'd just like to share a post I made in the OT thread to sum up my thoughts on the day and with that; I'll see yall tomorrow. As much as the circumstances suck I always enjoy these threads which is why I started this one

have grown up loving severe weather while also treating it with the respect it deserves, being from north Missisippi all my life nothing was more terrifying to see than today. I know 24 years isn't a long time to be here for a lot of ppl and I get that but to me this is the worst severe weather day for my local region in my lifetime My jaw literally dropped when I saw the debris field on the tornado that went through Holly Springs, seen plenty of debris fields on radar but not around here. So far it sounds like only 3 or so lives were lost here, which with seeing that speed and rain wrap and size anything less than 10 is an absolute miracle, I am amazed with. A credit to all of the MET services across this state and really everywhere as from what I've seen they all try to work together is due Sorry for being long winded and somewhat dramatic but I just needed to get that all out, unfortunately I know for a fact there are a lot of ppl here right now who don't realize just how close this was to being so, sooooo much worse

I've taken three semesters of straight physics in college, with an additional year of thermodynamics, a semester of fluid mechanics and in heat and mass transfer.

That's the difference, not your smarts.
