this board is SOO much better than texags. everyone seems pretty reasonable so i wouldnt think an increase in moderation would be needed. i dont even visit the other site anymore. its just crazy arguments and the amount of threads they delete there is insane

I think TA is just tough in general to moderate because of its size. The fact that we're all one sub-board over here means if you post here regularly, you make an effort to get along with each other for the most part.
Also, most of us have a life outside of the board, so that definitely helps keep folks grounded.

Actually it's not. All they have to do is deny banned posters access to the specific board they were banned from, to include view access. If they want to lurk, they log off, but if they want to post, they need to keep to the boards they're not banned from.
Get banned from 3+ boards and you're permabanned.
In addition, if they would remove pubes moderation privileges, it would go a long way to keep the peace. If he has an issue with something posted, he can tell another moderator, but many times, a poster is banned for something that fat pubes himself instigated or did. If they're going to fire Parker for what he did with Betiku, why allow pubes to do the same thing with McCollum without consequence?

They're trying to run a business not create a group of 30 PC pussies.

Their BUSINESS is based upon selling, in a sense, rumors and conjecture.
If CNN and FOX ran their news sites that way, we'd have to pay premium rates to view things online we can hear for free on the radio.

And on your last paragraph. One person represented as though he talked to the recruit who said he was committed when it was outside sources. BL said he talked to sources not the recruit. Simple

Yes and information gathered from people who wouldn't talk to you or me about the same.

and both have been caught multiple times stealing information from other sites.
Like I said, pubes and hamm provide a negative combined net value.

Depends on where you work. I receive plenty of information from people who wouldn't give that same information to others on this board. That doesn't merit my posting "breaking news...pay $12.99 to read further".

TA has an agenda, and that agenda is always put 1st no matter what, that's straight from a reliable source.

No shite, and as long as narcissistic people who want to feel a sense of belonging and that they matter to that agenda keep basically buying air and sunlight it will continue to be that way.

All that hate for TexAgs is going to eat you up inside

Never said they didn't. I only said they can get information that most people cannot. Sometimes they report it truthfully, sometimes they move it to support their agenda.
To say the service isn't worth money is ridiculous, economically speaking, as there is a demand and their demand has gone up continuously since 2010.

What would actually change if that site ceased to exist? Would things be better? worse?
It's far more likely that if there truly needs to be a sycophantic mouthpiece for the athletic department and/or coaching staff that someone else would step in.

However, we suffer from a few folks who want to dominate conversation and steer threads back to the same topic. This makes me, for one, read and post far less. So the effect, at least imo, is stifling conversation.
Don't really mind if some folks weigh in on each and every subject and profess to be the only one that really understands what is going on. However, when one Ag starts insulting another Ag for not agreeing then that gets old fast. Seems to be a handful of those on this board now.
I read posts and weigh in on topics less and less around here. Just have better things to do. Been around Texas A&M for a long time and go to 80% of the games home and away. Know plenty of Ags heavily involved in Aggie athletics, some know most of the coaches, some know players, 2 of our road companions own rental properties that house a number of football scholarship Ags. Some of the "all knowing" so called "experts" around here make me laugh from time to time.
The quality of discussions are still there. You just have to wade through so much BS around here from time to time.

I understand what you are saying, but economically speaking it has value. I don't know what to tell you. If you think they suck so bad go start your own competing service and get out there. I don't disagree they suck, I just don't give a shite about them and don't care about day to day recruiting for the most part.

Which is where I draw the line. I don't mind destroying someone's wrong-headed argument, but there's no reason to make it personal. That's the problem people have with certain moderators on other sites, especially a certain goateed version of Ketchum...when it's clear they are not going to win the argument, they resort to name-calling and "cutting the mike".

True and I never claimed to be all knowing, if fact I post very little of what I hear. I have a family member in the AD and know several reporters from the Eagle and Chronicle as well as a couple of the big money guys. Everything I hear is still just speculation or their opinion no matter how right or wrong they are, I post some of it but nothing earth shattering and never really claim to be in the know. Some of what I post is stuff we all should know and some is what I hear around town. Take it for what it's worth.
