Georgia freshman defensive end Chauncey Rivers’ latest arrest for possession of marijuana came after the car he was a passenger in was stopped by Athens Clarke-County police late Friday night because the vehicle’s registration was suspended.

The silver Chevrolet was pulled over in a parking lot at Pulaski and Clayton Streets in Athens around 10:45 p.m. Friday, according to the police incident report obtained by The Athens Banner-Herald.


The police officer smelled strong marijuana scent coming from the vehicle. The officer asked if there were any illegal drugs and Rivers said “no some other people smoked in the car earlier,” according to the report.

The three occupants of the car were asked to exit the vehicle. The other two occupants were also Georgia football players, but the Banner-Herald is not identifying them because they were not arrested.

So at least 2 more guys are probably going to test positive, IMO. Nartez Patrick (who was arrested with Rivers the last time, and Rico McGraw (who had a pill bottle with him at the arrest that smelled like week,) were the 2 other players with him.

This will be an exciting year for the games.
