sumlin called plays for one year and has never been considered a great football mind. he has no real track record as a coordinator. sumlin got hired because he showed he could run a program and for recruiting reasons.

herman has KILLED IT as a playcaller everywhere he's been. all his time at houston is just validation to be able to run a program.

if you think herman and sumlin are very comparable, then you need to read up.

How about this: Herman was picked by Urban Meyer to be his OC at Ohio State. Is there a stronger recommendation than that?
