I don't think thats reasonable at all for MUSChamp at USC and the last two years of that time line are absurd for any program. Kirby Smart would get fired after 3 years of 6-6 but anyone that improves from 6-6 to 8-4 isn't going to get the boot and certainly no one that improves from 6-6 to 8-4 to 10-2 isn't going to be run off.

Lets not forget that Les and Richt had job security issues not because of wins and losses, but because of stagnation and specific losses to rivals that consistently kept them out of the SEC championship game.

Back to MUSChamp, his seat would probably be warm after a 3rd straight year at 6-6 but if there are improvements that are not measurable by wins and losses then it just stays warm even going into year 4.

Frank Martin came into his 4th year without much improvement in wins and losses but you could see that his teams were getting better, he was building a program and just needed time.

Yeah he won't get run off with a 10-2 season. Hell, probably not even with consistent 8-4 seasons as long as he wins most of his bowl games and recruiting is good. You know he will have a good defense, so if the offense can be just average, 8 to 10 win seasons is very attainable.

The offense will be a work in progress so patience will be needed. If Roper is indeed the OC (last I heard) it looked like he did help the Gator offense the year he was there. Taking this off of SB Nation: "In his lone season at Florida, Roper improved the Gators from 18.8 points per game to 30.3 while installing a more spread offense."

Which really surprised me because I just remember Florida's offense being nothing but a dumpster fire under Muschamp. In any event, there is a risk with every hire, but I think the guy has it in him to be a consistent winner at Scar. Time will tell for both our new coaches.

Btw, thanks for allowing me access here. Appreciate it!

Apples and Oranges

We joke about it all the time that basketball is an afterthought in the SEC but there is some truth in reality. Holtz to Spurrier to Boom will create a different level of expectation wether we admit it or not. He will have to produce much faster than Martin just because of the sport and the conference.
