No doubt he's made Bama the standard of college football. But I can't see a scenario where they land a "Saban" like coach next go round. Hell, as of today I can't think of anyone close to comparable sands Urban. Jimbo? Dabo? fricking please.....
As the late Al McGuire legendarily stated, "the person who follows a dictator always gets assassinated".
I don't think a proven coach at a big-time program will touch Bama. You could be the greatest coach of your generation and disappoint the Bama faithful who will forever compare your results to one of the top 2-3 coaches who've ever coached college football.
Could they strike gold with a Utah/ Urban/ UF deal, sure. And they'll have their pick of those guys. But plucking a can't miss coach like Saban, post Saban, will be dam near impossible imo.

Nah shite we wont get another saban. He's the greatest college football coach of all time. We will get another top college football coach! But he won't be Nick Saban, but no one is!

The man to to follow Saban is only about 28 right now, how the hell should we know?

That's the thing, you need a Zook to your Spurrier, a Muschamp to your Meyer, a Miles to your Saban.

It'll probably be Dabo (he won't be able to resist mama's call). Will he win like Saban has, of course not. But he'll have us in contention for the playoffs most years.

We will probably get McElwain or Kirby, depending on who is more successful at their current school.

A guy that can win 10 games a year is fine with me. This is one of the most dominating periods in CFB. To follow it with decent success and 10-11 games a year, while still managing some success vs rivals, would be fine in my book.

Yeah, but then consider that there are very few schools out there that can match our ability to write a large paycheck.
It won't be easy finding someone comparable to Saban, though.

Miles will be next. Did nobody here read the contract Bama signed with the Devil? The deal is, Bama gets coaches that will win them national titles, but LSU gets to have a national title with the coach first. Bama figured, quite rightly, that there are worse trade-offs than being sloppy seconds to a bunch of Cajuns in return for more titles.

Sean Payton. He's going to wash out of the NFL in five years without Brees.

Here we go again...
