There are zero credible reports mac has interviewed or even met with Herman. Given that Herman has a CG to prepare for how could he? Same with Fedora. Is mac gonna do this all behind the scene with just a phone call? I don't see it. The whole two candidates and waiting on a CG thing is internet forum rumors and doesn't really make a lot of sense.

These are the known candidates:
Troy Calhoun
Matt Wells
Mike Bobo
Sonny Dykes
Barry Odom

The whole mystery home run hire waiting on a CG thing sounds as credible as Alden meeting secretly with Greg Marshall.

Memphis is putting a lot of pressure on Odom. They have to, if he isn't coming they have to get on a back up plan like now. There are rumors of a Thursday deadline. That sounds like a credible rumor

I don't know that he needs to meet with Herman. He hired him less than a year ago. He knows what kind of guy he is and where he stands on a lot of things.

It's just about gauging interest and seeing if what they already know about each other translates to Mizzou.

Of those, I take Odom. But I'm a 40 year old Mizzou fan. So I'll put my cup on and hope for the best.

But once you find your guy, you hire. None of these candidates have games this weekend, so why not hire? No one just sits on it once a candidate has been chosen. If for no other reason to allow the other school to start their search.

IMHO Rhodes has his guy, these other interviews insure he chose correctly and keeps the focus off his candidate until his season is over.
