it was never my point that Alabama has played an easy schedule. Alabama has, however, played an easier schedule than the numbers would imply. They have done this because their schedule is loaded with two types of teams, teams with power run centric offenses, and teams with inferior talent. the one team that does not fit either of these categories beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
I believe Alabama would lose two games with Stanford's schedule because Stanford's schedule includes are more challenging variety of schematics.

Alabama has played 4 teams that are power run centric - Wisconsin, Georgia, Arkansas and LSU.

Alabama has/will play 4 teams that are run spread oriented - Tennessee, Auburn, Charleston Southern, ULM

Alabama has played 4 teams are pass spread oriented - MTSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Mississippi State

Florida will probably be #13 and they are more power run centric but are much more West Coast concept than power I.

So Alabama is penalized for having a lot of talent? What other schedule could they play that has an equal amount of talent? 12 games against Ohio State?

Are you serious?

The reason Alabama lost to Ole Miss is because they committed 5 turnovers. Very few teams will win a game against anyone with a -4 turnover margin.

And speaking of Stanford's schedule:

Northwestern: Alabama destroyed Wisconsin, who is about on par with Northwestern. - WIN

UCF: The worst team in college football - WIN

@ USC - WIN

@ Oregon State - WIN

vs. Arizona - WIN

vs. UCLA - WIN

vs. Washington - WIN

@ Washington State - Shutout WIN

@ Colorado - WIN

vs. Oregon - WIN

vs. Cal - WIN

vs. Notre Dame - WIN

There is a massive talent disparity between Alabama and every team on Stanford's schedule.
