They're contemplating spending $15mil to get rid of Miles, I'm doubting it comes down to one not being as 'focused on the righteous path' when that kind of money is being considered.
You missed my point. Or probably you're sensitive and so you fixated on the righteous path part.
Either way, and like it or not.....Richt's character and persona is an asset for him in this business.
It has bought him time at UGA. ANd so I don't think it's a stretch to say that it would buy him time somewhere else too. But, I guess that goes against the simpleton talking point that Louisiana expects to play for championships and Georgia does not, blah blah blah

No I agree that Richt's personality and how great of a person he is have bought him some time and I actually don't have a problem with that. Part of his job is to be a representative of the university and no one could do that better off the field than him.
But I haven't ever seen Miles considered as anything other than a likeable, albeit goofy, guy that comes across as very genuine.
ETA: an example of what I'm getting at is a guy like Bo Pelini. A douchebag who gets fired because of his personality despite what most would consider a pretty good win/loss record. Richt (obviously) and Miles don't fall into that type of category so that's why I'm assuming this has nothing to do with personality like that.
I honestly think part of it is LSU fans' Saban obsession and the fact that he used to coach there and now is at their rival and Miles can't conpete with him.

That is true.

I don't think is simpleton at all. LSU ran through 5 coaches in 20 years post McLendon. That is an average tenure of 4 years which about all of them got, then they landed Ssban. Why? Searching for championships. And they got 2, 1 with Saban and 1 with Miles. Miles has a downward trend and they want to be in the natty mix. So, they are making a move.
Could Richt survive at LSU longer then Miles with Richt's record?
Not a chance.
