I dont think he didn't know this could happen. Still it isn't a good situation, but it should be pretty close to common knowledge that this shite is worse for you than any normal drug.

To be honest, I've been largely ignorant of it. I smoked spice like twice just to see what synthetic weed was like, but that's really it. I can see why synthetic weed would be highly attractive to athletes, who want to just chill and get high but still play football.

Even if the government and media report on this, it's really "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" at this point. They've done drugs and they know that the government has been lying to them their whole lives. So they rightfully don't believe it for the most part. I think they've personally seen how heroin, meth, and crack have ruined lives, but not weed. Why not do synthetic weed as far as they're concerned, since they lie about the side effects of the real stuff?

About 30% of the guys I played baseball with would smoke it. We'd smoke and go play basketball at the gym. I drove us one day and had to pull over(like, I had seconds to pull over) because I was about to pass out, which I did. Obviously, I never touched the stuff again. Plenty of the guys had similar things happen. That shite is bad news.

ETA: This was about 6 years ago, none of us knew how bad it was.
